Night

Night

a ripple in the moonlit night
disrupts the gorgeous scene
as shadows flit across the sand
and day gives way to childrens' dreams

all is calm, the air is cool
and bird songs ride the breeze
as I sit here with my pen in hand
writing what you read

the owls hoot, a haunting sound
as mist descends upon the town
my bed now calls me soft and warm
and off I head on my way home

it was like magic, sitting here
but now the sun is drawing near
the reflections of the stars now go
as another night draws to a close.
